body, you will find it, if you watch your koi closely. The most cases are
caused by Lernaea and Argulus which can be easily found. They often
live on the pectoral fin. When the surface of the body is congested,

koi suffer from nutrition lesion and bacterially caused
diseases. Some medicines for promoting nutrition, drugs,
antibiotic substances are used. Some are dissolved in water
and added to food pallets. Some are mixed with paste bait and
then introduced to the koi by feeding them.

| HOW TO INTRODUCE NEW KOI INTO THE POND... When purchased, Koi are put in a plastic bag containing a little water and oxygen and must be carried quickly and safely to the place you intend to keep them. It is important that they are not shocked during transport. Before putting a new fish in the pond, let the unopened plastic bag float on the pond surface for about 15-30 minutes. When the temperatures of the water inside the bag and the pond have equalized, open the bag and gently let the fish out of the bag and into the pond. Try not to put the water from the bag into the pond. |
